Blair admits shock at West Bank discrimination

Tony Blair has admitted he has been shocked by some of the discrimination against Palestinians in the West Bank but remains convinced that Middle East peace is "doable", in comments reported by the Independent newspaper.

Mr Blair's comments came during a visit to the West Bank, including a visit to Hebron where its mayor, Khaled Osaily, briefs him extensively about how much of its old city is boarded up, stripped of Palestinian life because of the presence of some 800 Jewish settlers, and their military protectors.
