Making a difference through sport Tony Blair Sports Foundation Annual Report

The Foundation recently published its Annual Review for 2010. The report explains what we’ve been up to over the last 12 months.  It includes some great stories told by our members who volunteer their time week in and week out in local communities across the North East and whose commitment to sport and their dedication and enthusiasm for helping young people achieve their dreams makes us proud to be part of what they do.

In a recent survey carried out by the Foundation we received an overwhelming response from local sports clubs and community organisations all saying they needed more trained volunteers to help organise and run sports sessions for young people.

The Foundation recruits, trains and then matches new volunteers with the sports clubs and schools that need them most.  In order to meet the demand for new coaches, last year we introduced the Tony Blair Sports Foundation for Business scheme which we hope will encourage more people through the local workforce to get involved.
