Members enjoy free match

An entire row in St James's Park was taken up by members of the Tony Blair Sports Foundation who watched Newcastle draw with Queen Park Rangers recently. The tickets, kindly donated by Newcastle United Foundation were given to members of the Sports Foundation in recognition of their hard work and the many hours of volunteering time they give in sports clubs around our region.

Jeanette Pickard, Chief Executive of the Foundation says:

"With thanks to the Newcastle United Football Foundation we were able to offer these tickets to our members and their families free of charge as a thank you for all the hard work they are doing and I hope that they all had a great time."

Robb Corr, a volunteer tennis coach for the Sports Foundation who attended the match said:

"Thank you so much, although they are now a championship team, the tickets are still very much appreciated :o)"

And Ian Davison who was one of the very first people to qualify as a football coach with the Sports Foundation took his family along with him and said:

"Thank you for the match tickets. My sons enjoyed the game immensely. If there is anything else I can help the Foundation with in the future please contact me."

If you're enthusiastic and committed to sport then becoming a trained assistant coach, qualified coach or an official is something you should think about doing.
