My coaching story: Nathan Money
Thursday, Oct 22, 2009 in Sports FoundationI have the privilege to work for Daisy Chain, a centre based in Stockton on Tees which supports families affected by Autism, my role is very varied and includes youth work and many aspects of events and fundraising. Having moved to the North East several years ago I enjoy life with my two children and have built a strong connection with the place, so I am passionate about continuing to make our area a great place to live and work.
The Tony Blair Sports Foundation is helping many people in the North East to become trained sports coaches and officials who will help and inspire young people to play sports. As a Youth Worker I see first hand the importance sports activity has in the role of improving children's lives through individual well being, mental health and social development.
As a member of the Sports Foundation I am about to take a course in Leadership in Running organised by Run in England and part funded by the Tony Blair Sports Foundation. This course will give me the ability to deliver safe, fun, running sessions to the Youth groups I manage and will enable me to establish running groups for fundraisers participating in running events for Daisy Chain.
If more people were to become involved with the opportunities that the Tony Blair Sports Foundation offer, young people in the North East would benefit tremendously from additional groups and activities that could inspire them in a positive way.
With thanks to the foundation for all their help.
