Run Northumberland - Five free places up for grabs
Friday, Dec 10, 2010 in Sports FoundationThe first Run Northumberland road race event in 2011 is a half marathon which will start and finish in Wallington on 27 March and thanks to the organisers Track & Field Sports, we have five free entries available to anyone wanting to run and raise funds for the Foundation.
Jeanette Pickard, CE of the TBSF tells us;
"The Foundation has recruited and trained over 500 members who are now coaching in local sports clubs across the region. But in a recent survey of local clubs 90% still said they needed more coaches and officials to meet the needs of the community. The Tony Blair Sports Foundation has a full programme of coaching and official courses arranged for 2011 in order to meet that need, but as a small charity we need to raise funds to help us do this.
I want to say thank you to Track and Field Sports for being generous in donating these places and appeal to runners to come and take part on our behalf. Every pound raised will go towards training more sports coaches for the North East."
