Football

Passion and football go hand in hand in the North East and the region’s football clubs provide some excellent community programmes. But there are not enough trained coaches and officials to help develop the next generation of talent. 

The Tony Blair Sports Foundation is working with local clubs and the Football Association to give a real boost to coaching in the North East.  The Foundation works with local football clubs throughout Tyne and Wear, Durham, Northumberland and Teesside, to provide volunteers, coaches and officials and is working with businesses to encourage their employees to take an active part in their local soccer clubs.
